Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rod Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Salah Al Rashad! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson darts in looking for a takedown but Al Rashad gets double underhooks and turns Jackson into the cage. Al Rashad looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. We've been hearing reports that Jackson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Jackson throws a jab but it's blocked by Al Rashad. Jackson scores with a jab. Al Rashad throws a front kick aimed at Jackson's knee but Jackson avoids it well. Jackson fails to land the takedown. Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Al Rashad moves out of range easily. Al Rashad with the counter takedown but Jackson avoids it easily. Jackson moves out of range of the strikes. Jackson tries to clinch there but Al Rashad circles away.

It looks like Rod Jackson has been cut. Al Rashad misses with a left hand and Jackson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Jackson has Al Rashad up against the cage in a clinch.
Al Rashad lands with a light punch inside. With the fighters up against the cage, Jackson throws an elbow but misses. Jackson manages to break the clinch.
Jackson has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rod Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big left from Al Rashad misses. Jackson wants to clinch. Jackson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Jackson looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Jackson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Al Rashad cracks Jackson with a right hand to the side of the head. Jackson doesn't manage to clinch there - Al Rashad circles away.
Jackson shoots in for a double leg but Al Rashad sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Al Rashad connects with a right hand. Jackson shakes it off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Al Rashad just misses with a punch to the body.
Jackson is looking to counter punch. Jackson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Al Rashad sprawls well. Al Rashad wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet. Al Rashad let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Jackson is breathing heavily. Al Rashad lands a big shot that drops Jackson! Can he finish him?
Al Rashad tries to free his leg and advance position but Jackson is retaining full guard. Al Rashad stops Jackson from standing up. Al Rashad trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Al Rashad loads up on a big left hand. Jackson felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Al Rashad looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Jackson can't hide his disappointment, as Al Rashad celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Salah Al Rashad!
