Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Earl Lee Grace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brak Maugøn!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grace misses with a wild body shot.
Grace seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Grace throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Earl Lee Grace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grace keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Grace swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A jab from Grace does it's job there.
Grace throws a lazy uppercut
letting Maugøn counter with a right hand.
It looks like Earl Lee Grace has been cut.
Maugøn displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Grace throws out the jab.
Maugøn dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Grace. That did some damage!
Maugøn checks a low kick from Grace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maugøn takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Grace rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Maugøn counters with a nice body kick.
No joy there for Grace, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Grace throws a lazy uppercut
and Maugøn counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Maugøn walks into a stiff left hand from Grace.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Grace closes the distance looking to clinch
and Maugøn counters with a stiff right hand.
Maugøn circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Grace to the canvas! Grace doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Maugøn keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brak Maugøn!
After the fight, Brak Maugøn was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
