Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Guy Laliberte (ranked 1314 p4p, 130 weight class) and Jeremy Locastro (ranked 3018 p4p, 264 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Hugh Johnson and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Locastro tries a low kick but Laliberte avoids it.
Locastro throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Locastro misses with a wild body shot.
Laliberte is looking to land body kicks.
Locastro shapes to counter with a head kick.
Laliberte pivots, looking for a leg kick but Locastro is out of range and Laliberte settles back down.
Locastro appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

and Locastro counters with a three punch combo that has Laliberte backing up. Laliberte nods at Locastro to acknowledge the strikes.

Locastro throws an overhand right that lands on Laliberte's shoulder, as Laliberte tries to avoid the shot.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Locastro.
Locastro swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Laliberte takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Locastro throws a poor cross that misses
and Laliberte makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Locastro ducks right into an uppercut from Laliberte.
It looks like Jeremy Locastro has been cut.

Laliberte thuds his shin into the meat of Locastro's side.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Laliberte dodges the punch combination from Locastro.
Laliberte lunges at Locastro with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Locastro's hand.
A clash of legs there as Laliberte blocks the low kick.
Locastro misses with a looping left.
Locastro jabs Laliberte right on the nose. Laliberte blinks but takes it well.
Laliberte throws a low kick but Locastro avoids it.

Locastro moves forwards but Laliberte connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Laliberte moves out of range of the strikes.
Laliberte blocks a jab.
It appears Laliberte was looking to counter with a kick there.
Locastro tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Locastro slips under a jab from Laliberte.
A little jabbing left from Locastro on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Laliberte misses with a jab to the body
and Locastro counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Laliberte is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Locastro walks straight into a right hand from Laliberte - that's dropped him! Laliberte jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Locastro from any more punishment! Locastro complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Guy Laliberte!
