Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jushin Thunder (ranked 1719 p4p, 253 weight class) and Yuri Bezmenov (ranked 2992 p4p, 399 weight class). Yuri Bezmenov told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jushin Thunder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yuri Bezmenov! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksandr Martynov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bezmenov with a poor takedown and Thunder counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Bezmenov shoots in looking for a takedown but Thunder manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bezmenov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Thunder fires out a quick counter leg kick but Bezmenov just manages to avoid it. Bezmenov dives in for a single leg takedown but Thunder sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Jushin Thunder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yuri Bezmenov. Bezmenov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Bezmenov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Thunder manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bezmenov has Thunder in his guard. Bezmenov preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Bezmenov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thunder doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thunder manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Bezmenov working for a triangle but Thunder defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Thunder throwing strikes from guard but Bezmenov blocks nicely. Bezmenov looking for subs off his back but Thunder has passed one foot through into half guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Thunder in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Bezmenov throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Bezmenov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Thunder defends it easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thunder got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bezmenov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thunder has managed to get both his arms back between Bezmenov's legs - danger averted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bezmenov working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Thunder has passed into half guard!
Thunder is trying to control the action in half guard but Bezmenov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Bezmenov looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Thunder missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Bezmenov is staying active underneath Thunder, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Thunder throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Thunder trying to control from half guard but Bezmenov is working away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Thunder thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bezmenov's head. Bezmenov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Thunder pulls his head out easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jushin Thunder will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Bezmenov tries for a takedown but Thunder circles away easily and Thunder counters with a stiff right hand. Bezmenov has his takedown stuffed and Thunder counters with a nice uppercut. Bezmenov with a lazy takedown attempt and Thunder counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Jushin Thunder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yuri Bezmenov. Bezmenov is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Bezmenov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Yuri Bezmenov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thunder moves into range and connects with a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thunder throws out a loose jab but Bezmenov uses good head movement to avoid it. Bezmenov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Thunder looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Bezmenov is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Thunder struggling a bit here. Bezmenov advances nicely into full mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bezmenov avoids the attempt from Thunder to control. Thunder is desperately trying to improve his position but Bezmenov has a good base and remains in mount. Thunder regains half guard. Bezmenov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Bezmenov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Thunder doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bezmenov. Thunder wants to control but Bezmenov is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bezmenov seems to be working for a kimura but Thunder defends the submission attempt. Thunder wants to improve his position but Bezmenov is controlling well.

Bezmenov drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Thunder dives on top into guard. Thunder in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Thunder gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Bezmenov doesn't succeed with the takedown and Thunder counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Thunder is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bezmenov can do to turn this around? Thunder throws a shot from downtown. Bezmenov moves away and avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bezmenov with a poor takedown and Thunder counters with a lovely shot to the body. Thunder lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Bezmenov slips under a jab. Bezmenov misses with a takedown enabling Thunder to counter with a crisp jab. Thunder connects with a solid leg kick. No luck with that takedown attempt from Bezmenov. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bezmenov tries for a takedown but Thunder circles away easily and Thunder counters with a big head kick but Bezmenov shrugs it off. Bezmenov moves away from the strike by Thunder. Thunder fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Thunder lands a glancing blow to the side of Bezmenov's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jushin Thunder dominated that second round. That's time! Thunder's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Thunder lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Thunder dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Jushin Thunder is winning the standup battle so far. Bezmenov tries for a takedown but Thunder circles away easily and Bezmenov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Bezmenov shoots and misses and Thunder counters with a nice right hand that sends Bezmenov toppling to the canvas! Bezmenov scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Thunder finish him?!
Bezmenov is rocked! Bezmenov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Thunder scores with a counter punch that sends Bezmenov to the canvas! Thunder smells blood - he's punishing Bezmenov with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Bezmenov has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jushin Thunder!
