Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Muhammad Jabbar (ranked 5251 p4p, 498 weight class) and Takeshi Kovacs (ranked 2192 p4p, 271 weight class). Takeshi Kovacs has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Muhammad Jabbar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Takeshi Kovacs!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jabbar throws a series of punches but Kovacs moves out of range.
It seemed like Kovacs was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Kovacs scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Kovacs scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Jabbar waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kovacs.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jabbar.
Kovacs stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Kovacs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jabbar pinned against the ropes. Jabbar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jabbar throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jabbar walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Kovacs checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Jabbar takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Muhammad Jabbar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jabbar connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.


It looks like Takeshi Kovacs has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jabbar seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Jabbar fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kovacs.

Jabbar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kovacs moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Kovacs darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Kovacs seems content to control.
Kovacs wants to pass to mount but Jabbar is defending the position.
Kovacs is trying to control the action in half guard but Jabbar is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Jabbar is looking for a sweep. Kovacs is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kovacs feints and as Jabbar raises his hands in defense, Kovacs changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Kovacs is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jabbar is just riding it out for now. Kovacs eventually gives up the hold.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jabbar moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Jabbar throws the kick towards the body but Kovacs avoids it.

Kovacs dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jabbar throws a hook but Kovacs avoids it easily.

Kovacs scores with a hook to the body. Jabbar takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Kovacs lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jabbar circles away quickly and effectively.
It looked like Jabbar was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Kovacs.
Kovacs lands a glancing blow to the side of Jabbar's head.
Jabbar bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kovacs's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jabbar is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kovacs is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Kovacs has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jabbar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jabbar throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Muhammad Jabbar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jabbar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kovacs is one step ahead there.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Kovacs passes Jabbar's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Jabbar is staying active underneath Kovacs, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
