Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gum Shoe (ranked 649 p4p, 88 weight class) and Jackson Spinks (ranked 950 p4p, 124 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gum Shoe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jackson Spinks! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shoe feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Spinks's calf. An inside leg kick lands from Spinks. Shoe darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Spinks uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shoe.
Spinks is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shoe. Shoe finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Spinks lands a jab to the head.
Shoe looks to score with a jab to the body but Spinks is just out of range. That kick from Shoe tenderised Spinks's leg. Spinks is trying to keep his angry face on. Spinks moves out of range of the body kick from Shoe.

Spinks swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Shoe misses with an uppercut. Spinks digs a good body shot into Shoe's ribs. Spinks thumps Shoe with a low kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shoe gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Spinks lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Shoe backwards. Spinks jumps guard.
Spinks lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Spinks is looking to work some ground and pound but Shoe has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spinks stands and throws Shoe's legs to the side, diving into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Spinks landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Shoe is looking for a sweep. Shoe is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Spinks is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Spinks is in the full mount, landing strikes. Shoe tries to get back to half guard but can't. Shoe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Spinks on the ground. Spinks cracks Shoe with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Shoe tries to hold on but Spinks postures up. Shoe wants to get back to his feet.
Shoe taking shots to the head. Shoe's coaches at Smash and Twist have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Shoe is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
A nice elbow there by Spinks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Spinks trying to control but he's not successful this time. Shoe tries to reverse the position but Spinks maintains control. Shoe is in a horrible position here. Spinks smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Spinks working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Shoe blocking the ground and pound. Shoe sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Shoe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Spinks seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Shoe is positioning himself well to prevent Spinks advancing to mount. Shoe is looking to control Spinks's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shoe avoid being mounted? Shoe keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ground and pound from Spinks. Spinks missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Shoe pushes Spinks off looking to stand but Spinks dives back in and keeps control.
Spinks throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Shoe is trying to control Spinks's posture. Spinks takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Shoe! Spinks is rotating here... this could be the end... Shoe is out! Spinks has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Jackson Spinks! An out of breath Jackson Spinks thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career. The defeated Gum Shoe had this to say: 'I will stick to you like glue until I find you and keel yew!'.
