and Akerman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Akerman throws a hook to the side of Trotter's head but Trotter sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Trotter has a takedown stuffed.
Akerman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Trotter, pushing him back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trotter wants to clinch up but Akerman keeps it at a distance.
As Trotter tries to get set, Akerman tries to push him back and clinch up but Trotter manages to avoid the attempt.

Alonzo Trotter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Akerman paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Trotter is rocked!
Trotter is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Akerman doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Trotter crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Trotter's bad books for that mishap!
