Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charles Hawtry (ranked 1350 p4p, 189 weight class) and Carlos Diaz (ranked 1243 p4p, 176 weight class). Hawtry comes to the cage accompanied by The Rain. Diaz has chosen Luis Fonsi - Despacito ft. Daddy Yankee & Justin Bieber (SING OFF vs. Pixie as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charles Hawtry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawtry takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Hawtry displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Diaz throws out the jab.
Diaz takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Hawtry has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hawtry there as he acknowledges the shot.
Carlos Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Diaz's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Diaz's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Diaz's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hawtry connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Diaz scrambles back to his feet.

Hawtry closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Diaz doesn't have the hooks in and Hawtry manages to turn into his guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hawtry drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hawtry jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Charles Hawtry will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Hawtry lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Diaz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hawtry pulls his head out easily.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hawtry, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
