Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vince Neil (ranked 1548 p4p, 205 weight class) and Brian Baker (ranked 1299 p4p, 180 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Neil might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Wild Side. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vince Neil! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brian Baker! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baker looks to score with a jab to the body but Neil is just out of range. Neil throws a head kick that misses. Baker rushes Neil and presses him up against the cage. Neil lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Baker backwards. Baker has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Baker is trying to break the clinch but Neil is controlling him. Neil has a couple of punches blocked by Baker.
Baker breaks the clinch.
Baker fails with an attempt to clinch.
Baker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Neil paws at him with a jab and circles away. Jab by Neil. Baker misses with the combination.
Neil tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baker closes the distance and clinches. Neil tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Baker has had enough of the clinch but Neil keeps him there for the moment. Baker with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Baker manages to break the clinch.
Neil avoids the head kick by Baker.
Neil is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neil uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. A shot to the body from Baker misses and Baker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A thudding body kick lands there by Neil!
Baker tries to clinch but Neil moves out of range. Neil ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Baker moves away. Neil ducks under a wild hook from Baker. Neil takes one to the chin there. Baker avoids the head kick by Neil.
Neil has closed the distance and engaged Baker in a clinch.
Baker can't break the clinch.
Neil working some nice short punches in the clinch. Neil escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Baker scores with a jab to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Neil waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Baker. Baker replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Neil blocks it well. Neil circles away from the clinch attempt.
Neil was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. The fight stays on the outside here - Baker looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Baker doesn't manage to clinch there - Neil circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neil throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Neil throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Neil scores with a hook to the body. Baker takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Neil looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Baker gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Neil lands a left hand.

Baker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Neil paws at him with a jab and circles away. Neil bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Neil throws a sloppy head kick and Baker moves out of range easily. Neil misses with a hook. Neil throws a sloppy head kick and Baker moves out of range easily. Baker moves into range and clinches up with Neil. Neil struggles to land a body shot inside as Baker controls his hands.

Baker tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Neil avoids it. Neil tries to throw a body punch but Baker avoids it by throwing Neil back against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Neil lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Baker backwards. Baker wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Neil has him pressed against the cage. Baker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Baker shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Neil takes a swing at Baker's ribcage but misses. Baker throws a fast counter high kick but Neil manages to duck under it in time. Baker gets in close and instigates a clinch. Baker can't break the clinch.
Baker drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Neil lands with a right to the head. Baker missing with knees to the body.
Baker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Baker slips a jab and a cross from Neil.

Jab from Neil. Neil misses with a wild body shot. Baker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Neil swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A kick lands to the mid section there for Baker. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Baker moves into range and clinches up with Neil. Baker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Neil lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Baker takes one on the button. Neil throws a right hand that misses
enabling Baker to counter with a crisp jab. Baker takes one to the side of the head.
Neil throws out a loose jab but Baker uses good head movement to avoid it. Neil misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Baker.
Baker fails with an attempt to clinch.
Baker darts in and clinches Neil up against the cage. Neil misses with a punch to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Baker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Neil throws a head kick that misses and Baker counters with a stiff right hand. Nice uppercut lands for Neil. That snapped Baker's head back.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vince Neil dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
