Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Patty Larkin (ranked 924 p4p, 107 weight class) and Lewis Burwell Puller (ranked 1678 p4p, 177 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Patty Larkin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lewis Burwell Puller! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Larkin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Larkin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Larkin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Larkin throws an elbow that misses. Puller uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Larkin's guard. Nice move by Puller! Puller is looking to stand up but Larkin won't let him. Larkin working for a triangle but Puller defends it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Larkin is trying to maintain the position but Puller is very close to passing his half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Larkin is trying to get back to full guard. Puller wants to get back to his feet.
Larkin is looking for a sweep. Puller is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Larkin looking for submissions off his back. It looks like Puller is going to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Puller wants to get up but he can't break Larkin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Puller avoids the head kick by Larkin.
Puller feints a counter leg kick. Larkin connects with a jab. Puller scores with a punch to the head.

Larkin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Larkin cracks a nice hook into Puller's ribs. Larkin throws a lazy uppercut
letting Puller counter with a right hand. Puller thows a left - swing and a miss! Puller avoids the head kick by Larkin.
Larkin fails to land the takedown. Nice cross by Larkin. Larkin shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Larkin trying to pass the guard but Puller defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Larkin thows a huge punch but Puller dodges it nicely.

Larkin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Puller knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Larkin trying to control from half guard but Puller is working away.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Puller avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Larkin. Puller trying to control from the bottom.
Larkin thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Puller is defending against the submission attempts here by Larkin.
Puller keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Larkin takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's six minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Larkin is pressing down on Puller's thigh, looking to free his foot. Puller is holding on for now. Larkin missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Larkin missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Larkin moves nicely into side control. Larkin creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. We've been hearing that Larkin has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Puller prevents Larkin from improving position. Larkin trying to control the position but Puller is working away.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Larkin lands a decent elbow from side control. Larkin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Puller is looking for a sweep. Larkin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Puller is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Larkin trying to control the position but Puller is working away.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Puller takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Puller gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Larkin is just content to waste time from the top position. Puller takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Puller working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Larkin. Puller utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patty Larkin dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Puller walks into a left hand. Larkin shoots and misses and Puller counters with a lovely straight right hand! Larkin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Puller. Larkin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Puller can do to turn this around? Larkin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Puller is trying to defend but Larkin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Larkin working over Puller with some ground and pound. Puller looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Larkin working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. That's one minute gone in the round. Puller keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Larkin is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Puller! Puller is bucking up trying to escape but Larkin cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Larkin looking to control but Puller is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Puller is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Larkin trying to control but Puller is having none of it. Larkin can't control as he wanted to and Puller manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Larkin lands strikes from half guard.
Puller is rocked! Larkin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Puller is still in real trouble! Can Larkin finish him? Larkin passes the guard and advances to mount! Larkin loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Puller scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Larkin land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Larkin stands and salutes the crowd.
