Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fiyero Lermontov (ranked 190 p4p, 29 weight class) and Teodors Ozolinsh (ranked 214 p4p, 31 weight class). Teodors Ozolinsh has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Fiyero Lermontov's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Fiyero Lermontov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Teodors Ozolinsh! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lermontov slips under a jab from Ozolinsh. Lermontov connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Lermontov pushes Ozolinsh up against the cage in a clinch. Lermontov blocks an uppercut.

Ozolinsh misses with a punch on the inside.
Ozolinsh lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Lermontov is trying to pull guard but Ozolinsh has him pressed against the cage. Lermontov tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. A head punch on the inside from Ozolinsh fails to land. Lermontov jumps into guard, dragging Ozolinsh to the mat.
Ozolinsh seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Lermontov looking for subs off his back but Ozolinsh has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lermontov has his foot on Ozolinsh's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ozolinsh works his way back into a safe position though. We've been hearing good reports from Lermontov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Lermontov working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Ozolinsh has passed into half guard!

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Lermontov looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lermontov is trying to maintain the position but Ozolinsh is very close to passing his half guard. Ozolinsh wants to pass to mount but Lermontov is defending the position. Lermontov looking for submissions off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lermontov wants to get back to full guard. Lermontov looking for a kimura from the bottom but Ozolinsh passes into side control! Ozolinsh controlling from side mount. Lermontov is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ozolinsh controls the position. Lermontov prevents Ozolinsh from improving position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Lermontov swings for the body but Ozolinsh moves out of range.
Ozolinsh looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Lermontov comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Ozolinsh moves into range and connects with a jab. Ozolinsh throws a lazy right hand but Lermontov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lermontov scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ozolinsh doesn't seem bothered though. Fiyero Lermontov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lermontov slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Lermontov is looking to clinch but Ozolinsh is avoiding it.

A close round but Teodors Ozolinsh will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Lermontov forces Ozolinsh back against the cage and clinches. Ozolinsh working some nice short punches in the clinch. Lermontov is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Ozolinsh to keep the fight standing. Ozolinsh throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Lermontovs head. Lermontov tries to pull guard but Ozolinsh forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Ozolinsh tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Ozolinsh working some nice short punches in the clinch. Lermontov drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ozolinsh is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lermontov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ozolinsh defends well. Lermontov being controlled here, momentarily. Lermontov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Ozolinsh is pushing down on Lermontov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lermontov is fighting to maintain full guard but Ozolinsh has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Lermontov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ozolinsh is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Lermontov has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Ozolinsh escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Ozolinsh! Ozolinsh taking a breather here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lermontov can't do much from the bottom here. Ozolinsh wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lermontov keeps working.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lermontov walks into a left hand. That kick from Ozolinsh tenderised Lermontov's leg. Lermontov is trying to keep his angry face on.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lermontov throws out a loose jab but Ozolinsh uses good head movement to avoid it. Ozolinsh slips a jab from Lermontov. Nice jab there from Lermontov. Lermontov lands a two punch combo.
Lermontov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ozolinsh paws at him with a jab and circles away. Ozolinsh now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Lermontov throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Lermontov misses with a lunging right hand
and Ozolinsh counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Lermontov swings widly with a right hand

Lermontov fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ozolinsh on the side of the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lermontov wants to clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lermontov steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ozolinsh. Ozolinsh misses with an uppercut. Lermontov saw that one coming. That kick from Lermontov tenderised Ozolinsh's leg. Ozolinsh is trying to keep his angry face on. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Teodors Ozolinsh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Lermontov uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ozolinsh has time to react. Lermontov throws a leg kick which misses Ozolinsh's front leg but catches the back leg as Ozolinsh tries to avoid it. Lermontov rushes Ozolinsh and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Ozolinsh struggles to land a body shot inside as Lermontov controls his hands.
Ozolinsh lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Ozolinsh working some nice short punches in the clinch. A short right hand to the side of the head by Ozolinsh. Ozolinsh working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Lermontov is rocked! Lermontov tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ozolinsh just stands there and leans against the cage. Oh Lermontov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Ozolinsh lands a shot to the body. Ozolinsh blocking some punches.
Lermontov is trying to pull guard but Ozolinsh turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Ozolinsh lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Lermontov jumps guard but Ozolinsh turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fiyero Lermontov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lermontov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ozolinsh walks away with a smile on his face. Lermontov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Ozolinsh moves away from the strike by Lermontov. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ozolinsh ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lermontov moves away. Lermontov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Ozolinsh scores with a counter punch that sends Lermontov to the canvas! Ozolinsh smells blood - he's punishing Lermontov with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Lermontov has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Teodors Ozolinsh! An out of breath and clearly excited Teodors Ozolinsh thanked Reaper Combatwear for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
