Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
31 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Super Heavyweight! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Pearson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pearson lands a nice hook to Heavyweight's body. Heavyweight takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Heavyweight fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Heavyweight steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Pearson. That one must have hurt. Pearson misses with a looping left. Pearson moves forwards but Heavyweight connects with a nice, crisp jab. Pearson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Heavyweight connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Pearson scrambles back to his feet.
It looks like James Pearson has been cut. Pearson connects with a leg kick. Heavyweight looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Pearson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Heavyweight moves away. We've been told by Heavyweight's head coaches at Private Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Pearson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Pearson scores with a jab to the body. Heavyweight has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Pearson finds it's way round the side to connect with Heavyweight's head.
It looks like Super Heavyweight has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A swing and a miss from Pearson. Heavyweight was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Pearson throws a hook but Heavyweight blocks it. Heavyweight throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Good exchange - Heavyweight coming out on top. Heavyweight swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Heavyweight walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pearson tests Heavyweight's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Super Heavyweight's cut is getting worse. Heavyweight needs to keep his hands up - Pearson had a free shot at his head there.
Super Heavyweight's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. A punch lands to the side of Pearson 's head but he takes it in his stride. Heavyweight takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Are you kidding me?! Pearson ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Heavyweight clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
