PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Morrison Lee (ranked 909 p4p, 112 weight class) and Juu Dyon (ranked 581 p4p, 71 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lee might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Pretender. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Juu Dyon!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dyon.
Dyon takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Dyon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lee circles away.
Jab, jab by Lee - just one landing.
A punch lands to the side of Dyon 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Nice body punch from Lee.
Lee sizes up Dyon with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Dyon shoots in looking for a takedown. Lee tries to sprawl out of it but Dyon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Morrison Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juu Dyon.

Dyon takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Lee scores with a head kick. Dyon tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Morrison Lee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lee just misses with a punch to the body.
Dyon doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Dyon goes for a double leg but Lee avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lee continues to drive forward.

and Dyon counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dyon.
Lee lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dyon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lee gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dyon has his foot on Lee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lee works his way back into a safe position though.

Dyon told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Lee is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dyon is just riding it out for now. Lee eventually gives up the hold.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A looping hook to the body misses from Lee. Dyon does a little dance to reset his feet.

Dyon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dyon lands in his opponent's guard.

Lee has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Dyon doesn't defend quickly enough and Lee has managed to lock this one up! Can Dyon escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Lee on a fantastic submission victory.
