Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Rutherford (ranked 412 p4p, 55 weight class) and Jurgen Tetsuo (ranked 494 p4p, 65 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 22 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Rutherford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jurgen Tetsuo! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rutherford swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Tetsuo counters with a right hand that sends Rutherford tumbling to the canvas! Can Tetsuo finish him? He dives into Rutherford's guard looking to do just that!
It looks like Thomas Rutherford has been cut. Rutherford is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Tetsuo keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rutherford's head.
Rutherford is rocked! Rutherford lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rutherford accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rutherford with a flurry of punches that miss. Tetsuo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rutherford controls the pace. Tetsuo trying to control the position here. Rutherford pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tetsuo is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rutherford trying to control the position from guard on top but Tetsuo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tetsuo is adopting a defensive guard. Rutherford loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Tetsuo keeping moving, preventing Rutherford from controlling successfully. Rutherford tries to free his leg and advance position but Tetsuo is retaining full guard. Rutherford trying to control the position from guard on top but Tetsuo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tetsuo tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rutherford's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Rutherford has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Rutherford trying to control but Tetsuo is working from the bottom. Rutherford throwing strikes from guard but Tetsuo blocks nicely. Tetsuo wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Rutherford swings away with a leg kick that misses. Rutherford tries to bum rush Tetsuo with a series of wild strikes but Tetsuo uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Rutherford lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Rutherford will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Tetsuo counters with a straight right hand. Rutherford closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Tetsuo manages to work his way to half guard, despite Rutherford's best efforts. Tetsuo gets full guard. Rutherford stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tetsuo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Tetsuo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rutherford's guard. Tetsuo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Tetsuo trying to control but Rutherford is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rutherford has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Tetsuo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rutherford. Rutherford sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tetsuo winds up and cracks Rutherford with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Rutherford is trying to control but can't.
Tetsuo not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Tetsuo missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Tetsuo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rutherford's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tetsuo is taking a breather. Rutherford says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jurgen Tetsuo dominated that round. The cut man is working on Thomas Rutherford's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Rutherford misses with a low kick. Rutherford swings away with a body shot that misses
and Tetsuo lands a stunning uppercut that sends Rutherford to the mat! Oh Rutherford is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Rutherford moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Tetsuo chips away with some ground and pound. Tetsuo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Tetsuo has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Tetsuo gets to his feet and stands over Rutherford, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Rutherford felt that one! Tetsuo unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Rutherford from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jurgen Tetsuo! A very excited looking Jurgen Tetsuo made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
