Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hans Hermann Hoppe (ranked 190 p4p, 24 weight class) and Edward Kenway (ranked 343 p4p, 43 weight class). Hoppe comes to the cage accompanied by Wind of Change. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hans Hermann Hoppe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 43 - 16 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edward Kenway!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kenway circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hoppe tries to clinch but Kenway moves out of range.
Hoppe misses with a takedown
and Kenway counters with a straight right hand.

Hoppe bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hoppe works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Kenway tries to improve position but can't.
We've been hearing good reports from Hoppe's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The strikes coming from Hoppe are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Kenway tries to bench press Hoppe off him but Hoppe keeps the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hoppe misses with a wild body shot.
It seemed like Kenway was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Hoppe tries to clinch up.

and Kenway counters with a stiff right hand.
Hoppe shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kenway as he avoids it easily.
Kenway doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Hoppe shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kenway is trying to defend but Hoppe finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hoppe thows a huge punch but Kenway dodges it nicely.
Kenway won't allow Hoppe to pass to mount.
Kenway is looking to improve his position.

Kenway is doing well to control the position and prevent Hoppe from advancing to side control.

Kenway tries to roll over but Hoppe keeps him under control.

Hoppe wants to work for an arm triangle but Kenway is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hoppe wants to take a breather but Kenway is having none of it.
Hoppe has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Hoppe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kenway can do to turn this around?

Hoppe is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kenway is surviving well by controlling Hoppe's body position as best he can.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kenway holds on and takes a little breather.

Hoppe postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kenway is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hoppe, into his guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kenway got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hoppe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kenway has managed to get both his arms back between Hoppe's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hoppe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kenway manages to avoid it.

Edward Kenway seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kenway stuffs the takedown attempt from Hoppe. Hoppe gets slowly back to his feet.
A little jabbing left from Kenway on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

and Kenway counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Hoppe shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hoppe was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Hoppe staying calm.
Hoppe in side control, throwing shots but Kenway defends.
Kenway prevents Hoppe from moving into mount.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kenway wants to control but Hoppe postures up.
Hoppe misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Hoppe throws an elbow but Kenway slips to the side and avoids it well.
Kenway is letting Hoppe control him for a moment.

Hoppe prevents Kenway from escaping the position.
Edward Kenway has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kenway is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Hoppe lands a nice forearm strike.

Kenway sneaks out the side door and pushes Hoppe away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hoppe. Kenway does a little dance to reset his feet.

Hoppe clinches up with Kenway and pushes him back against the cage.
Hoppe tries to pull guard but Kenway won't allow it.
Hoppe drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Kenway breaks the clinch.
Kenway looks to land a left hand but Hoppe moved out of range nicely.
Hoppe looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Kenway throws an overhand right that lands on Hoppe's shoulder, as Hoppe tries to avoid the shot.

Hoppe misses with a wild body shot.
Hoppe throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kenway throws out a counter right but Hoppe avoids it with no problem.

Hoppe gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Kenway wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kenway is trying to push Hoppe away but Hoppe has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Hoppe has hold of one of Kenway's legs. Kenway is fighting the takedown attempt but Hoppe gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kenway had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hoppe defends it easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hans Hermann Hoppe.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hoppe, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Hans Hermann Hoppe decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
