Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Askren (ranked 236 p4p, 35 weight class) and Julio Regueiro (ranked 683 p4p, 97 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Matt Askren!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Julio Regueiro!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Askren scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Sloppy strikes from Regueiro. Those never looked like landing.
Askren dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Good exchange - Regueiro coming out on top.
Regueiro looks to land a right hand but Askren moved out of range.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matt Askren.
