Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Calixto Cardona (ranked 570 p4p, 70 weight class) and Patty Larkin (ranked 758 p4p, 88 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A bone on bone clash there as Larkin blocks the leg kick.
Cardona keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Larkin lands a really nice looking cross but Cardona seems unphased.
Cardona darts in and clinches Larkin up against the ropes.
Larkin stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Larkin wants to take a breather but Cardona is having none of it.
Larkin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cardona sees it coming and defends easily.
Cardona is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Larkin pulls his head out easily.
Larkin is looking to advance position but Cardona won't allow it.
The fighters are battling for position here. Cardona manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Larkin slips a nice elbow through Cardona's hands, connecting with Cardona's forehead.
Cardona wants to improve his position but Larkin is controlling well.

We've been hearing good reports from Cardona's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
