Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yodsanan Sityodtong (ranked 3168 p4p, 329 weight class) and Wayde West (ranked 2743 p4p, 286 weight class). West has chosen Sober as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yodsanan Sityodtong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

38 - 39 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wayde West!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Kavanagh and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sityodtong throws a hook to the side of West's head but West sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Yodsanan Sityodtong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
West ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sityodtong scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
It looks like Wayde West has been cut.
Sityodtong fails to land with a series of punches.
West shoots in looking for a takedown. Sityodtong tries to sprawl out of it but West keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sityodtong manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sityodtong on the wrong end of a nice jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
West closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - West lands in his opponent's guard.
West postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sityodtong is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of West, into his guard.
Sityodtong wants to pass the guard but West is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sityodtong wanted to stand there but West had control of the position.

West looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sityodtong pushes down on West's leg and manages to get into half guard.
West gets back to full guard.
Sityodtong got a little sloppy there for a moment and West has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sityodtong has managed to get both his arms back between West's legs - danger averted.
West is looking for a triangle but Sityodtong pushes his legs off easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sityodtong throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as West works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sityodtong has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

West keeping moving, preventing Sityodtong from controlling successfully.

West working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sityodtong doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sityodtong manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sityodtong stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Sityodtong throws an overhand right that lands on West's shoulder, as West tries to avoid the shot.
Sityodtong tries to sprawl but West drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Sityodtong blocking the ground and pound attempt from West.
Sityodtong wants to control but West is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Sityodtong is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
West is looking for a kimura here.
West is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Sityodtong moves into full guard.
Sityodtong looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
West passes Sityodtong's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Sityodtong is looking to improve his position.
West is looking to take a break and control but Sityodtong is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sityodtong moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Yodsanan Sityodtong will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Wayde West's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
West slips a straight right by Sityodtong.
Sityodtong lands with a shot to the body.
West shoots for a double leg takedown but Sityodtong sprawls well. He's pushed West's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
West avoids the body shot from Sityodtong.
Sityodtong stuffs the takedown.
Sityodtong listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Sityodtong connects with a single shot there.
West is rocked!
West bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
West is still on wobbly legs! Can Sityodtong finish him?
A big right from Sityodtong misses.
Horrible takedown attempt by West or perhaps it was just good defense by Sityodtong, which made it look bad.
Yodsanan Sityodtong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wayde West.
Sityodtong cracks West with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends West tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Sityodtong pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! West is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yodsanan Sityodtong!
