Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joan Vila (ranked 1244 p4p, 145 weight class) and Pit Canthropus Jr (ranked 940 p4p, 112 weight class). Canthropus Jr comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Austin Powers - Daddy Wasn't There kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canthropus Jr thuds his shin into the meat of Vila's side.
Vila tries to land a front kick but Canthropus Jr steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Canthropus Jr throws a nice head kick!
Vila throws a body punch but Canthropus Jr moves out of range.
Canthropus Jr comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Vila tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Canthropus Jr was well out of range. Poor timing from Vila.
Canthropus Jr bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Nice shot lands for Canthropus Jr.
Canthropus Jr misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Canthropus Jr on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Vila scores with a jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vila throws a nice inside leg kick.

Vila throws a right and a left that both miss.
Canthropus Jr ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Canthropus Jr! But no joy.
Canthropus Jr thows a left - swing and a miss!
Vila lands a jab to Canthropus Jr's midsection.
Vila misses with a few strikes there.
The fighters circle momentarily. Vila darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Canthropus Jr tries to clinch but Vila is having none of it.

Vila definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Vila misses with a wild combination.
Canthropus Jr lands a nice shot to the body.
Joan Vila seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vila takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Canthropus Jr misses with a few strikes there.
Canthropus Jr dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Vila. That did some damage!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Vila moves out of range as Canthropus Jr strikes.

Vila gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Canthropus Jr.
Canthropus Jr throws a wild body kick that Vila sees coming a mile off.
Vila cracks Canthropus Jr with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Canthropus Jr looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Vila finish him?

Vila misses with a jab, cross combination.
Canthropus Jr is still on wobbly legs! Can Vila finish him?
Vila weaves into range and cracks Canthropus Jr right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Canthropus Jr goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Vila is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Joan Vila!
During a confident post fight interview, Joan Vila thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
The defeated Pit Canthropus Jr had this to say: 'I blame this on my shit genetics. Fuck you Dad!'.
