Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Pearson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Doug Bell! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bell moves out of range of the body kick from Pearson.
Bell misses with a hook. Bell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Pearson lands a big head kick that sends Bell tumbling to the mat! Pearson takes a step backwards and waves Bell back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Doug Bell has been cut. Bell closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. This has been an exciting period of action! The strikes coming from Bell are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Bell wants to control but Pearson is keeping him busy. Bell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pearson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Bell looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Pearson's coaches at Tosen's Home for Lost Boys have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Bell thows a huge punch but Pearson dodges it nicely.

Pearson cracks Bell with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Bell scores with a decent looking hook. Pearson staying out of range there. Pearson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Pearson throws a jab but it's blocked by Bell. Bell lands with a straight right. Pearson didn't see that one coming. Bell is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Bell has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Bell fails in his attempt to clinch. Bell digs a good body shot into Pearson's ribs. Bell keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Bell gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Pearson ducks under a wild hook from Bell. Pearson feinted there with a counter leg kick. Bell darts in and clinches Pearson up against the cage. Bell tries a body shot but Pearson blocks it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bell throws a punch but it's blocked by Pearson. Pearson working aggressively here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Pearson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. The fighters circling - Pearson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Pearson throws a push kick but Bell slaps the foot to one side. Pearson slips a jab from Bell. Pearson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pearson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bell. Bell follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Pearson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bell. A quick step to the side and Pearson tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Pearson throws a wild body kick that Bell sees coming a mile off. Pearson throws a nice inside leg kick. Bell throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pearson sees it coming and avoids it easily. Nice defenses there by Bell. Bell scores with the left hand. Pearson knows he should have avoided that one. Bell checks a leg kick nicely. Bell connects with a body shot. Bell moves into the clinch. Pearson blocking some punches.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pearson tries to clinch up but Bell circles away and keeps his distance. Pearson throws a head kick but Bell moves out of range.
Bell loads up on a big right hand but Pearson slips the punch. Bell slips a straight right by Pearson. Bell connects with a body shot. Pearson throws the kick towards the body but Bell avoids it. Bell looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Pearson is holding on to half guard well. Bell stalling. Let's hope that Bell has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bell takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Bell throwing shots but Pearson is blocking nicely. Bell throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Bell is working for a kimura but Pearson is defending it quite comfortably.

Pearson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bell scores with a couple of nice shots. Pearson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bell. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bell trying to control the action but Pearson is working from the bottom. Bell tries to pass to full mount but Pearson defends it. Bell working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Pearson fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Bell checks it well. Bell throws out a counter right but Pearson avoids it with no problem. James Pearson is winning the standup battle so far. Bell scores with a hook to the body. Pearson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Bell moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Pearson throws a body punch but Bell moves out of range. Pearson feints and then cracks Bell's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bell down. Bell scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Bell cracks Pearson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Bell scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. A shot to the body from Pearson misses and Bell counters with a right hand to the body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pearson connects with a leg kick. Bell looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Bell checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. A little jabbing left from Bell on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Pearson fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Bell checks it well. A slow jab from Bell misses its intended target. James Pearson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bell's corner calls for a 1-2. Bell obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Bell tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pearson missing with a left hand there. Bell uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Pearson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bell. Bell takes a jab on the nose there. Pearson doesn't seem phased though. Bell closes the distance and clinches. A short uppercut from Bell. Bell gets through Pearson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pearson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Pearson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Bell throws a left and a right that both miss
and Pearson counters with a thumping low kick. Pearson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bell.
Bell fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Bell feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Pearsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Doug Bell is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Bell moves into range and connects with a jab. Pearson moves away from the strike by Bell. Pearson feinted there with a counter leg kick. A left lands for Bell. Bell walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Pearson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bell. Bell lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Pearson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bell is able to avoid easily. Pearson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Bell is looking to chop away at Pearson's legs. Pearson slips a jab from Bell. Pearson misses with a looping left. Bell scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Bell checks a leg kick. Pearson wants to land a leg kick but Bell is out of range. Bell displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pearson throws out the jab. Pearson throws a jab when Bell was well out of range. Pearson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bell's sensitive parts. Bell misses with a jab, cross combination.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bell misses with an uppercut. Pearson walks into a stiff left hand from Bell. Bell pivots, looking for a leg kick but Pearson is out of range and Bell settles back down. A looping hook to the body misses from Bell. Pearson does a little dance to reset his feet. A thudding body kick lands there by Pearson!
And that's the end of the fight! Doug Bell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Bell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
