Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Katu Partio (ranked 338 p4p, 46 weight class) and Rudy Rhod (ranked 547 p4p, 68 weight class). Partio's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Sininen sunnuntai. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
25 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Katu Partio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
18 - 11 - 2, fighting out of New York, Rudy Rhod!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Partio tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Partio throws an off balance right hand
and Rhod counters with a straight right hand.
Partio throws a leg kick
and Rhod counters with a nice low kick that buckles Partio's knee momentarily.
Rhod moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Rhod wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Partio throws a shot from downtown. Rhod moves away and avoids it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Rhod! But no joy.
The fighters circling - Partio throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Rhod keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Partio.
Partio connects with a solid leg kick.
Rhod scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Partio doesn't seem bothered though.
Partio tries a head kick but it misses.
Rhod throws a series of punches but Partio moves out of range.
Partio swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Partio fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Rhod has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Partio tries to move into range but Rhod moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rhod swings widly with a right hand
and Partio counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A swing and a miss from Partio.
Rhod swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Partio connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Rhod's hands.
Partio does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Rhod let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Rhod misses with a hook.
Rhod takes a jab right on the kisser.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Partio shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Partio was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Partio tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Rhod is working to avoid the ground and pound but Partio connects with a decent elbow.
Partio throwing strikes but Rhod manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Partio is trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Partio is working hard here to advance position.
Rhod passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Partio!
Partio can't escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rhod controlling from the full mount.
Partio is desperately trying to improve his position but Rhod has a good base and remains in mount.
Partio manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Partio gets back to full guard.
Rhod got a little sloppy there for a moment and Partio has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rhod has managed to get both his arms back between Partio's legs - danger averted.
Partio is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rhod is aware though and is defending well.
Partio wants to sweep here but Rhod controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rhod is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Partio is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Rhod has his hands clasped together but Partio extends and breaks Rhod's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Partio.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Katu Partio!
A very excited looking Katu Partio rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
