Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kvame Zulu (ranked 13 p4p, 2 weight class) and Heavy Rain (ranked 44 p4p, 6 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Zulu might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Big Badaboom. Rain comes into a darkened arena with his song building. For Heavy Metal we will die! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Heavy Rain will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kvame Zulu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Heavy Rain! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rain throws a right and a left that Zulu avoids nicely. Zulu throws a shot from downtown. Rain moves away and avoids it. It seemed like Rain was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Rain darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Rain misses with a kick to the body.
A left lands for Rain.
It looks like Kvame Zulu has been cut. Zulu throws a sloppy head kick and Rain moves out of range easily. Rain with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Zulu to score with a decent uppercut.
It looks like Heavy Rain has been cut. Rain pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Zulu thinks about countering with a body kick. Rain with a jab. A head kick misses from Rain. Rain slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Zulu lets loose with a powerful body kick. Rain will feel that in the morning. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A decent looking body kick lands there for Rain. A jab from Rain finds it's way through Zulu's defenses. We've been informed that Rain has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
That's one minute gone in the round. A decent looking body kick lands there for Rain. Nice body punch from Rain. Zulu lands a jab. Rain looks to throw the jab but Zulu is out of range. Zulu fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Rain checks it well. Nice straight punches there by Rain. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Rain. Rain tests Zulu's chin there with a solid looking shot. Zulu tests Rain's chin there with a solid looking shot. Rain on the wrong end of a nice jab. That kick from Rain tenderised Zulu's leg. Zulu is trying to keep his angry face on. Zulu has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Wild Beasts Zoo in the buildup to the fight. Zulu shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rain throws a head kick that misses. Zulu throws a hook but Rain avoids it easily. That kick from Rain tenderised Zulu's leg. Zulu is trying to keep his angry face on. Zulu just misses with a punch to the body.
Rain takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Zulu slips a straight right by Rain. Rain swings widly with a right hand
and Zulu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Rain pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Rain moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Zulu moves into range and clinches up with Rain. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Zulu creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Zulu lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Rain or not. Rain looks winded! Zulu pushes Rain back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Rain tries to pull guard but Zulu won't allow it.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Zulu creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zulu scores with a shoulder strike. A short left from Zulu. Zulu tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Rain misses with the head strike.
Rain tries to pull guard but Zulu forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Zulu lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Rain manages to break the clinch.
Zulu connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Rain is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Rain pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Zulu throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rain sees it coming and avoids it easily. Rain thinks about the counter body kick. Rain is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Zulu had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Zulu misses the shot to the body. Zulu walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kvame Zulu's cut is getting worse. Rain moves away from the strike by Zulu. A decent looking cross lands there for Zulu. Zulu on the wrong end of a nice jab. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Zulu blocks a head kick by Rain.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rain moves away from the strike by Zulu. Zulu just misses with a punch to the body.
Rain throws out a counter right but Zulu avoids it with no problem. Zulu throws a half hearted mid kick. Zulu avoids a kick to the body.
The fighters circling - Zulu throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Rain defending well as Zulu loads up on a big left hand. Heavy Rain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rain misses with an uppercut
and Zulu counters with a body kick. Zulu takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Zulu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rain.
Rain is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rain avoids the body shot from Zulu.
Zulu scores with a nice right hand.
Rain takes a swing at Zulu's ribcage but misses. Rain goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Zulu was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kvame Zulu will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Zulu moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Rain throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. A counter left hand to the body from Zulu misses its target. Sloppy strikes from Rain. Those never looked like landing. A counter left hand to the body from Zulu misses its target. Zulu slips a straight right by Rain. Zulu connects with the punch. Good standup being displayed there by Rain as he connects with a hook. Good exchange - Rain coming out on top. Rain sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Rain throws a lazy body kick and Zulu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Rain misses with a hook
enabling Zulu to counter with a crisp jab. Good work by Zulu as he checks the leg kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rain misses with a leg kick. A little feinted left hand from Zulu on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Heavy Rain seems to be getting the better of the standup. Zulu thows a body kick. Rain tries to catch it but that hurt him. Rain is breathing heavily. Zulu connects with a right hand. Rain shakes it off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rain lands a nice leg kick that just misses Zulu's sensitive parts. Zulu looks to score with a jab to the body but Rain is just out of range. Rain throws a lazy head kick and Zulu counters with a huge right that knocks Rain out cold! Zulu is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
