The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fortier keeps Lemieux at a distance using the push kick.
Fortier stuns Lemieux with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Lemieux lands an overhand right.
We've been hearing reports that Fortier has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Fortier lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Fortier moves out of range of the strikes.
Fortier tries a low kick but Lemieux avoids it.
Fortier just misses with a punch to the body.
Fortier fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

It looks like Vincent Lemieux has been cut.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lemieux! But no joy.
No joy there for Lemieux, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fortier tries to bum rush Lemieux with a series of wild strikes but Lemieux uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Fortier connects with a leg kick. Lemieux looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Hercules Fortier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lemieux takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Lemieux circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Fortier. Lemieux falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Fortier!
