Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grant Alyoshin (ranked 1898 p4p, 215 weight class) and Kilo Maluga (ranked 2277 p4p, 255 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Kilo Maluga was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alyoshin looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Alyoshin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Fist of Fury Training Center in the buildup to the fight.
Maluga looks to land a left hand but Alyoshin moved out of range nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Alyoshin. Maluga does a little dance to reset his feet.

It looks like Kilo Maluga has been cut.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Maluga, as that shot connected.

Alyoshin throws a counter high kick but Maluga was just alert enough to avoid it.

It seemed like Maluga was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Maluga wants to clinch up but Alyoshin keeps it at a distance.
Alyoshin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Maluga.

and Alyoshin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Maluga thinking.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Alyoshin lands a big right hand that sends Maluga crashing to the mat! Alyoshin stays standing though and waves Maluga back to his feet!
Maluga is rocked!
Maluga chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Alyoshin can pounce on him.
Alyoshin uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Maluga is still on wobbly legs! Can Alyoshin finish him?
Kilo Maluga's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kilo Maluga's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
