The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heidegger does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
La Croix was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

La Croix tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Heidegger manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
We've been informed that La Croix has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

La Croix lands a head kick that bluckles Heidegger and drops him to the canvas. He's still conscious but it looks like it's going to take him the full 10 seconds to get back his senses! He's up on 9 and seems to be just about OK to continue.... the referee agrees and we're back to the action with La Croix no doubt looking to push for a finish!
