PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Galtero El Toro (ranked 131 p4p, 19 weight class) and Biff Raper (ranked 214 p4p, 34 weight class). El Toro comes into the arena with Ballad of Bodacious blaring out of the sound system. Raper is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Torso fuck - Raped by Elephants. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Galtero El Toro!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Biff Raper!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raper throws a looping overhand right but El Toro ducks down to avoid it.
Raper looks to throw the jab but El Toro is out of range.
Galtero El Toro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slow jab from El Toro misses its intended target.

El Toro looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
El Toro throwing shots but Raper is blocking nicely.
El Toro looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Raper with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. El Toro connects with a nice short shot to Raper's temple.
El Toro wants to advance to full mount but Raper doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

El Toro stands and throws Raper's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Raper is trying to get back to half guard.
El Toro tries to advance to mount but Raper denies him.

El Toro wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Raper, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
El Toro is looking to take a break and control but Raper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Raper is clearly trying to counter these attacks from El Toro with a body shot.
El Toro takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
El Toro throws out a loose jab but Raper uses good head movement to avoid it.
Raper's coach down at Chris Leben KO Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Raper's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
El Toro blocks the body kick.
Raper pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces El Toro back to the ropes. Raper follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

El Toro takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
El Toro is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Raper can do to turn this around?

Raper throws a jab but it's blocked by El Toro.
Raper displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as El Toro throws out the jab.
Raper scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


It looks like Galtero El Toro has been cut.
El Toro takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Raper connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Raper throws a head kick but El Toro moves out of range.

Raper drops El Toro with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but El Toro looks back up at him and smiles so Raper waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


El Toro is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Raper connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt El Toro covering up! Raper comes in with a big uppercut and El Toro goes doooown! He's slumped up against the ropes, eyes staring blankly into space.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Biff Raper!
Biff Raper is the new heavyweight champion!
Our winner, Biff Raper, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
