Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Warror (ranked 30 p4p, 5 weight class) and Jackson Spinks (ranked 103 p4p, 16 weight class). Jackson Spinks has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Paul Warror's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Warror!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jackson Spinks!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spinks tries to close the distance and clinch but Warror swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
We've been told by Warror's head coaches at Ryōzanpaku Dojo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Jackson Spinks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spinks lands with a cross.
Spinks pivots, looking for a leg kick but Warror is out of range and Spinks settles back down.
Spinks misses with a straight left.
Warror thuds a left hand into Spinks's body.
Warror throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Spinks stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Spinks swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Warror.

Warror takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Spinks lands with a kick to the temple. Warror shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Spinks will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Spinks has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Paul Warror.
