Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Link Gaetz (ranked 71 p4p, 10 weight class) and Gyukosho Fujimoto (ranked 49 p4p, 6 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaetz circles away from the clinch attempt
and Gaetz counters with a leg kick.
Fujimoto moves into range and clinches up with Gaetz.
Fujimoto breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gaetz buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Gaetz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fujimoto.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fujimoto misses with an uppercut
and Gaetz makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Fujimoto really felt that one!
Gaetz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Fujimoto uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gaetz.

Fujimoto takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Fujimoto sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gaetz connects with a good right hand that stumbles Fujimoto. Fujimoto circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Gaetz lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Fujimoto chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gaetz can pounce on him.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Fujimoto in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Gaetz takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Fujimoto takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gaetz wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Gaetz fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Gaetz lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Fujimoto might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Fujimoto rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gaetz makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Gaetz thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Fujimoto if he has to take too many more of those.

Fujimoto's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Oooooh!!! Gaetz has knocked Fujimoto down with a huge combo! Gaetz steps away and waves a wobbly Fujimoto back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Gaetz wobbles Fujimoto with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Gaetz dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Fujimoto to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!

After winning the bout, Link Gaetz thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
