Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gemechu McKraken (ranked 3233 p4p, 161 weight class) and Uriah Chin (ranked 1947 p4p, 106 weight class). Uriah Chin struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 136.6lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Gemechu McKraken has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gemechu McKraken! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Uriah Chin! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McKraken avoids the body shot from Chin.
McKraken throws a shot to the body.
McKraken scores with a hook to the body. Chin takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Chin takes a shot to the body in his stride.
McKraken misses the body punch and Chin counters with a nice uppercut. Chin misses with a wild body shot. Chin closes the distance and pushes McKraken back into the cage. Chin lands a shot to the body. Chin lands with a short head shot on the inside. I was talking to McKraken's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. McKraken tries to pull guard but Chin won't allow it.
Chin misses with a knee to the head. McKraken working aggressively here.
McKraken tries a body shot but Chin blocks it.
McKraken blocks a body shot from Chin. McKraken tries for a takedown but Chin manages to get underhooks.
McKraken misses with a hook from the clinch. Chin with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. This has been an exciting period of action! A head punch on the inside from McKraken fails to land. Knees in the clinch landing for Chin.
McKraken lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. McKraken misses with a short punch on the inside.
That's one minute gone in the round. McKraken lands an uppercut. McKraken gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. McKraken is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Chin sees it coming and defends easily. Chin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McKraken's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McKraken's back! McKraken avoids the strikes from Chin. Chin controlling well, preventing McKraken from escaping the position.
Chin doesn't have the hooks in and McKraken manages to turn into his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chin working a defensive guard here.

McKraken doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McKraken manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. McKraken connects with a couple of short punches. Chin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. McKraken landing with the ground and pound.

McKraken postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Chin looking to hit a scissor sweep but McKraken is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McKraken lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. McKraken works over Chin with some ground and pound from guard. McKraken prevents Chin from getting back to his feet. McKraken thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. McKraken working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Chin is rocked! McKraken looking to pass the guard. Chin is still in real trouble! Can McKraken finish him? Chin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Chin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
McKraken lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Chin controls McKraken momentarily but McKraken frees himself. McKraken stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chin swivels though and keeps the full guard. McKraken gets to his feet and stands over Chin, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Chin felt that one! McKraken unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Chin from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gemechu McKraken! Gemechu McKraken was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
