The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayers throws a head kick but Knox moves out of range.
Knox misses with a body shot.
Mayers with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Knox to score with a decent uppercut.

Mayers takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Mayers connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Mayers throws a head kick but Knox moves out of range.
Mayers has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sloppy strikes from Mayers. Those never looked like landing.

Mayers closes the distance and clinches up with Knox, looking for a takedown. Mayers pushes Knox against the cage but Knox circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Knox seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
A lazy left from Knox finds it's target.
Mayers looks to land a right hand but Knox moved out of range.
Knox cracks Mayers with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Mayers falls to his knees and Knox doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
