And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jorge Cruz Jr!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz Jr lands a nice hook to Akodo's body. Akodo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Cruz Jr tests Akodo's chin there with a solid looking shot.


It looks like Toturi Akodo has been cut.
Cruz Jr ducks under a wild hook from Akodo.
Akodo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cruz Jr.
Akodo appears to be looking for a big counter.
Cruz Jr lands with an uppercut that bounces Akodo off the cage and back into range.
Akodo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Akodo lands a head kick!


It looks like Jorge Cruz Jr has been cut.
Cruz Jr closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Akodo! Cruz Jr dives in looking to finish! Akodo is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jorge Cruz Jr!
After winning the bout, Jorge Cruz Jr thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Toturi Akodo was interviewed post fight and said 'Losing a fight is heartbreaking. Losing your sense of excellence is a tragedy.'.
