Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joao Andrade (ranked 1871 p4p, 245 weight class) and Luke Davidson (ranked 2031 p4p, 261 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joao Andrade! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Davidson! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Andrade lands a jab. Andrade connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. A swing and a miss from Andrade. Davidson misses with a left hand and Andrade counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Luke Davidson has been cut. Davidson misses with a lunging right hand
and Andrade counters with a nice uppercut. Davidson looks to land a left hand but Andrade moved out of range nicely. Davidson cracks Andrade with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Andrade jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Davidson throws a lazy right hand but Andrade sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Andrade throws a quick counter kick to the body but Davidson avoids it. Davidson lands with a shot to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Davidson takes a swing at Andrade's ribcage but misses. And Andrade counters with a quick kick to the body but Davidson blocks it. Andrade is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Andrade moves out of range as Davidson strikes. Andrade feints and then cracks Davidson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Davidson down. Davidson has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Andrade takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Davidson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Andrade steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Davidson. Andrade fires out a quick counter leg kick but Davidson just manages to avoid it. Davidson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Andrade avoids the body shot from Davidson.

and Andrade counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Andrade throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Davidson misses the shot to the body. Davidson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Davidson misses with a right hand and Andrade counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. The fight stays on the outside here - Davidson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Davidson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Andrade just misses with a punch to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davidson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
It looks like Andrade has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. Davidson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Andrade sees it coming and avoids it easily. Davidson misses with a hook
and Andrade counters with a straight right hand. This has been an exciting period of action! Davidson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Andrade was well out of range. Poor timing from Davidson. Andrade was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Davidson misses with a right hand and Andrade counters with a lovely straight right hand! Andrade avoids the body shot from Davidson.
Andrade is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Davidson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Davidson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Davidson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Davidson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Andrade connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That has opened up Luke Davidson's cut even more. Andrade uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Davidson.
Andrade throws a counter high kick but Davidson was just alert enough to avoid it. A shot to the body from Davidson misses enabling Andrade to counter with a crisp jab.
Davidson is rocked! Andrade lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Davidson is still on wobbly legs! Can Andrade finish him? Davidson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Andrade counters with a right hand to the body. Andrade fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Davidson looks winded! Andrade fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Davidson out cold! Brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Joao Andrade! Joao Andrade was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
