Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Askren (ranked 190 p4p, 28 weight class) and Stanley Steele (ranked 313 p4p, 53 weight class). Steele has chosen Manowar - Heart of Steel as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steele is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Steele escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Askren gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Askren stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steele swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Askren lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Steele has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Steele and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
It looks like Askren has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
