Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ian Maan (ranked 2254 p4p, 258 weight class) and Scott Hill (ranked 1562 p4p, 202 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ian Maan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Hill!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maan walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Maan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hill, pushing him back against the cage.

Hill has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Maan clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maan defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Hill's arms.

You can see the frustration on Maan's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hill is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Maan defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Maan is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Hill gets his way!

I really don't envy Maan right now.

Maan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hill has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maan has managed to get both his arms back between Hill's legs - danger averted.

Hill works his foot free and advances to mount.
Maan slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Maan is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.

Hill wants to finish this one by submission but Maan is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hill.

Maan tries to reverse the position but Hill maintains control.

Hill is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Maan has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Maan has given up his back here. Will Hill look for the submission or keep pounding away?

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hill is looking to control Maan but Maan is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Hill has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Maan has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Maan tries to escape but Hill has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ian Maan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Hill.

Hill has Maan pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Maan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hill looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Maan is fending him off so far but Hill persists. Nope, Maan circles away and we're back to standing.
The fight stays on the outside here - Maan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Hill is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Hill lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Maan hang on?

Hill postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Maan bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Hill and the fight is over!
