Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Oxenham (ranked 6228 p4p, 520 weight class) and Marcus Hagler (ranked 6779 p4p, 533 weight class). Oxenham kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bones & Eddy Baker - CemeteryWaltz. Marcus Hagler will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Oscar Oxenham! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Hagler! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hagler gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Oxenham to score an easy takedown into full guard. Oxenham gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Oxenham shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Oxenham showed some decent athleticism there. Hagler is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Oxenham throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oxenham looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Oxenham trying to control the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oxenham sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hagler defending well though. Oxenham stalling. Oxenham scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Oxenham sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Oxenham is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hagler! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Oxenham wants to finish this one by submission but Hagler is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Oxenham. Oxenham controlling from mount. Hagler tries to hold on but Oxenham postures up. Hagler takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hagler blocking the ground and pound. Hagler is in a horrible position here. Oxenham smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Oxenham tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. We've been informed that Hagler has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Oxenham moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hagler has worked his arm free - good work by Hagler!
Oxenham remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Oxenham throws a strike aimed at the side of Hagler's head but Hagler avoids it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oxenham working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Oxenham is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hagler will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Oxenham has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Oscar Oxenham dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Oxenham looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hagler! Hagler explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Oxenham shoots in looking for a takedown but Hagler manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Oxenham's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Hagler looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Hagler lands an overhand right. Hagler lands a nice shot to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hagler misses with a hook. Oxenham ducked under it nicely. A slow jab from Hagler misses its intended target. Hagler misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Oxenham.
Hagler tries to sprawl but Oxenham drives through with a takedown into half guard. Oxenham decides to stand and escape the position. Hagler misses with a wild combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hagler misses the shot to the body. Hagler throws a shot from downtown. Oxenham moves away and avoids it. Hagler connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Oxenham momentarily.
Oxenham feints and as Hagler raises his hands in defense, Oxenham changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Oxenham decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hagler, up you get! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Oxenham is defended easily by Hagler. Oxenham shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hagler counters with a lovely shot to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Oscar Oxenham. That's going to take a lot out of him. Oxenham has a takedown stuffed. Hagler jabs Oxenham right on the nose. Oxenham blinks but takes it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Good shot there by Hagler. Hagler feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Oxenhams jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The fight stays on the outside here - Hagler looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hagler misses with a few strikes there.
Oxenham went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Hagler throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Marcus Hagler seems to be getting the better of the standup. A slow jab from Hagler misses its intended target. Hagler's corner calls for a 1-2. Hagler obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Oxenham feints and as Hagler raises his hands in defense, Oxenham changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Hagler can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Oxenham controls the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hagler tries to land a sweep but no joy. Oxenham working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Oxenham controls from within his opponent's guard. Oxenham stops Hagler from standing up. Hagler can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Oxenham controls the pace.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Oxenham slips under a jab. Oxenham misses with a combination
and Hagler counters with a straight right hand. Oxenham shoots in and gets a takedown into Hagler's guard. The fighters are working up against the cage. Hagler manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Hagler breaks from the clinch.
Hagler lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Oxenham circles away quickly and effectively. Hagler thuds his shin into the meat of Oxenham's side. Marcus Hagler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oxenham blocks a low kick nicely. Oxenham half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Hagler has Oxenham up against the cage in a clinch.
Hagler escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Oxenham tries to clinch but Hagler moves out of range. Oxenham looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hagler is fending him off so far but Oxenham persists. Nope, Hagler circles away and we're back to standing. Hagler throws out a counter right but Oxenham avoids it with no problem. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Hagler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Hagler throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Oxenham throws a half hearted mid kick. Oxenham is looking to land body kicks. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hagler! But no joy. Excellent takedown into side control there by Oxenham. Hagler is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Hagler prevents Oxenham from improving position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oxenham stands up and beckons Hagler to his feet. Hagler stuns Oxenham with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oxenham shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hagler as he jumps to the side. Hagler connects with a nice looking jab.
Oxenham misses with a kick to the body.
Oxenham shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hagler pinned against the cage. Hagler gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hagler scores with a hook. Oxenham needs to keep his hands up - Hagler had a free shot at his head there. Oxenham changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hagler looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oxenham tries to move to mount but Hagler blocks the move with his legs. Sloppy strikes there by Oxenham. Hagler manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Oxenham is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Oxenham seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hagler for as long as he can get away with.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hagler is trying to stand up here but Oxenham is controlling him well. Oxenham controlling the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Marcus Hagler is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Oxenham looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oxenham's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Oxenham is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hagler defends it well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hagler makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
And that's the end of the fight! Marcus Hagler comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Hagler has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
