#R1##TD2# Lauzon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Humpa was covering up waiting for the punch and Lauzon finishes the takedown easily into guard. Lauzon lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Lauzon working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Lauzon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Lauzon throws an elbow that misses. Humpa uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lauzon's guard. Nice move by Humpa!#REVR# Humpa is looking to work some ground and pound but Lauzon has wrist control. Humpa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lauzon swivels though and keeps the full guard. Humpa's corner is telling him to maintain position. Humpa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lauzon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Lauzon is pulling down on Humpa's head. It's preventing any offense from Humpa, at least for the moment. Humpa preventing the sweep. Humpa regains half guard.#SUB# Humpa is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lauzon pulls his head out easily. Lauzon not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Lauzon lands with a punch from half guard. Lauzon lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Lauzon missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Humpa is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lauzon's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lauzon's back! Humpa throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Lauzon has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Humpa.#T4# Lauzon looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Humpa's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Lauzon has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Humpa. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Humpa missing with strikes from the back. Lauzon manages to reverse the position and now he's in Humpa's guard. Nice work there by Lauzon.

#R1# Rivera leaves Lauzon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Rivera scores with a head kick. Lauzon tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. An inside leg kick lands from Rivera. Lauzon shoots in but Rivera avoids the takedown attempt easily. Rivera stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rivera wants it to stay on the feet. Kamren Rivera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Lauzon. Lauzon shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rivera defends it nicely. Rivera pulls out of a head kick attempt.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lauzon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Lauzon lands a couple of elbows. Lauzon landing some decent shots from guard. Poirier working a defensive guard here.
Lauzon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Lauzon chips away with some ground and pound. Poirier knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. Lauzon shoots and misses and Gerber connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Gerber scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.#KD2# Gerber lands a left and a right that send Lauzon crashing to the mat, dazed. Gerber thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!#ROC2#Lauzon is rocked!
