HERO 29: Naama vs Lazerous
Prelims
Featherweight Division: Mike Stillao vs Carlos Martinez
Mike Stillao worked hard for takedowns in this one, but couldn't manage to get the fight to the mat. That resulted in an unbelievably lopsided striking battle. Martinez outstruck Stillao 188-0 in a fight that surprisingly didn't have any 10-8 rounds. However, the judges still chose the correct winner. Result: Martinez by unanimous decision
Middleweight Division: Taisto Rahapussi vs Paul ed
The striking was close in the first round of this one, but Rahapussi managed to cut Paul ed and land a few more shots. He could've coasted to collect the round, but i cont... |

BFC FN5 and BFC 15
BFC continues riding high into september with 2 events this week; on friday the 7th fight night 5 takes place at the intimate hayashis lounge while on saturday the 8th BFC 15 will fill the 7,700 capacity sambo centre in st petersberg. Just one day into september BFC has not only staged an event but already crowned a new champion in Wade Dew (4-0 MMA, 3-0 BFC).
Dew, a Hawaii based striker has rocketed his way through the 155lb tournament to become the inaugreal lightweight champion, a title he earned with a decision win over Eric Brooks (3-1 MMA, 2-1 BFC), a TKO over Chris Karter (1-1 MMA, 1-1 BFC) and in the final shut down the take down game of previously undeafeated submission grappler Daniel Garcilazo (2-1 MMA, 2-1 BFC).
Fight night 5 is headlined by a bantamweight scrap between Japans Kesuke Miyagi (13-3-1 MMA, 3-0 BFC) and norways Donald Brevik (6-6 MMA) who makes his promotional debut. Brevik, a former CEC featherweight champion, is 1-2 since returning to the 135lb division and looks to rebound to his previous form that once saw a 5 fight win streak.
The comain event is a middleweight match up between 30 year old abu-dabi submission grappler Berik Yawoka (8-4 MMA, 3-1 BFC) and fellow BJJ brown belt the affrican assassin Ayila Obasi (9-3 MMA) who makes his promotional debut. Obasi joins us HMMA where he went 2-1 with his only loss being due to cut in a title shot against champion Kukko. With a combined 16 submission wins between the two combatants some high level grappling seems a certainty.

Hello CFC Managers -
Reminder to all CFC fighters that we are now 3 weeks away from our first ever pay per view. Some of you have begun to receive offers for that card. We will continue to book it over the next 8-9 days with a mix of CFC talent and international fighters seeking superfight opportunities.
Thank you to everyone who is putting their money down at the CFC Casino every week. Odds will be up for this upcoming weekend’s two shows by the end of Monday. The activity at the bookie helps with the event rating and attendance. We also have hired a poster maker, so expect to see those for each event moving forward.
CFC 262 took place just three weeks before the Canadian Fighting Championship’s inaugural pay per view event. Lightweight champion Christian Slaughter headlined the card with a title defence against previously undefeated newcomer Sal Manella. Slaughter, who celebrated 12 months as CFC champ earlier this month, introduced Manella to the challenging world of the CFC, punishing him in three of the four rounds before stopping him with ground strikes in the final round. Manella, many of whom did not give enough credit heading into the bout, proved his toughness, however. He likely took a round off the champ and forced him deep into the championship rounds cont... |

BFT 134 Review
Heavyweight - "Demolition Man" Alistair Overeem technically knocked out "The Butcher" Yama Lakes with a cut at 1:30 in round 1.
And the "Demolition Man" Strikes again. He quickly brought things into the clinch, and once that started, his elbows took over. it only took 3 solid elbow strikes to put Lakes away. Nice work.
Light Heavyweight - Paul Baksteen knocked out Kobe "Black Mambo" Brian with strikes in 17 seconds in round 2.
In the first round, Baksteen started off without a hitch. He was bring the more agressive fighter for sure. But as the round went on, Brian became more and more forceful. Even though he landed less, he sure as hell went all out trying to get it. I mean he threw a TON of head kicks. It's hard to say who I would give the round to. I suppose that Brian was the more agressive for the most part of the round and would take it. The second round had Brain shoot for more hits, but his agression was his downfall. Baksteen was able to time Kobe and drop a 1-2 on him and that was the beginning of the end for Brian cont... |

We Welcome you to next VFN Preview show – this time, for VFN 17: Larkin Vs Capoeira. As title of this event shows – it will be headlined by Lightweight title fight, but its not only 5 round fight that we have for you that night.
But first, we will start with other Lightweight bout, where former title contender Anzor Azhiev will fight against one of the newest acquisitions of VF 155 Division – Jay “The Stray” Warner. 4-7 Azhiev was on a roll, with three straight victories he earned himself a shot at the title, but he wasn’t able to win it – as he tapped in fourth round. Now, on his way back to the top stands other submission specialist with a Brown belt in BJJ. We may finally have a chance to see Aznor’s stand up skills, because it may very well be his only chance to win this bout.
If you thought we will end with 155ers – think again. Jayden Harrison and Jens Johanson are set to do battle too, and this fight it’s really important for both of them. Skilled boxer from Union Town, New Jersey, Jayden Harrison showed a lot of heart in his bout against Rafinha Capoeira. Jens, on the other hand is coming of a Submission victory. Now, these two guys will have to determine which one of them may be one step closer to a title shot. Jens is much more accomplished wrestler, but he will have Striking disadvantage for sure, so it will be really cool to see what they decide to do.
Now we will go 50lbs higher, to see how Frankie Riiser and Jaakko Klipinen will react in must-win situation. Both are coming of a losses, and in order to get back on track they have to score stoppage victory. Frankie is talented grappler with a Brown Belt in BJJ, but his striking game…let’s just say that he isn’t K-1 Championship material right now. But Jaakko isn’t ADCC champion material as well, so it may be interesting to see how they will try to execute their strategies coming to that fight cont... |

Following in the footsteps of our resoundingly successful SHW tournament, the good folks at Aggressive Damage, Montreal are amped to announce we're now accepting entrants to our 16 man Featherweight Grand Prix. 6 MONTHS VIP TO THE WINNER, in case you missed it, plus a pudgy, 100k bonus of in-game cash for the runner-up. We'll also be inviting all participants to train at the ultra-low cap Aggressive Damage Dojo in beautiful downtown Montreal for the duration of the tourney so there's no need for those in other cities to book flights to and fro, bro.
With our inaugural SHW champ's manager, Chris Partridge able to say; "get AD, it pays", we anticipate a deluge of interest in this mega-meltdown. Don't sleep or you'll weep- the entry window will be closing on September 18th with the first round set to kick-off 11 days later, at the Sports Complex in Montreal on the 29th. We'll also need to determine an alternate or two, based on who draws the short end of the stick in the hype/pop counts and have them ready to step in should someone falter.
