The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Danneskjöld shoots in for a takedown but Maellard shows good takedown defense. Danneskjöld closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Maellard did well to prevent Danneskjöld getting side control. Maellard manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Danneskjöld keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Maellard struggles to land a body shot inside as Danneskjöld controls his hands.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hanak does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Ridgeway lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Some bone on bone action there as Knight checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Knight throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Knight closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Knight throws a hook to the side of Maldini's head but Maldini sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
And that's the end of the fight! Giuseppe Maldini comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Maldini has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Hunt lands a jab to Katsidis's midsection. Hunt throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Katsidis's head. Hunt has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Katsidis. Good work by Hunt as he checks the leg kick. A big right from Hunt misses. Katsidis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hunt manages to avoid it. Hunt steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Katsidis. Katsidis lands a slapping body shot.

He thinks about going to the ground but Katsidis looks back up at him and smiles so Hunt waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Katsidis takes a step back to recover. Katsidis gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Hunt gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Phol Hunt! After the fight, Phol Hunt was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

A lazy left from Jenova finds it's target. Jenova stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Jenova has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. A head kick by Shillings misses and Jenova counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Shillings will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
