Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Godbolt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Godbolt's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Trenches by Pop Evil. Thomas comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Shinedown - "State Of My Head" kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Matthew Godbolt had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 186.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Derrick Thomas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas cracks Godbolt with an open hand slap. Thomas takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Thomas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Godbolt moves away. Godbolt appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Stein looking to hit a scissor sweep but NKone is one step ahead there. Stein is looking for a triangle here but NKone uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

NKone has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Stein. Stein biding his time, controlling NKone. Stein keeps control of the position as NKone tries to break free.

Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Stein is thwarting NKone's attempts to control the position. This could be trouble! No, NKone has managed to free his arm - good work. Handle has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Handle tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Jaak thuds his right hand into Handle's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Nice jab there from Jaak. Jaak sizes up Handle with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Jaak tries to move into range but Handle moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

That's better than Mytilinaios was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Newport tries to escape but Mytilinaios is in control. Mytilinaios thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Mytilinaios tries to advance to mount but can't. Newport wants to control but Mytilinaios postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mytilinaios is looking to finish here, going for an Americana.
