Road tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gracie is able to avoid easily. Gracie gets tackled into the cage by Road. Road maintains the clinch. Gracie wants to take the fight to the mat but Road manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Gracie has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Road after a bit of a struggle. Road is defending well against a takedown attempt. Jaktic moves out of range as Cole strikes. Jaktic misses with a takedown attempt - Cole sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Cole is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. William Jaktic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jaktic decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Cole is refusing to be controlled, as Jaktic sits in half guard. Jaktic moves nicely into side control. Cole is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jaktic is controlling him well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jaktic controlling the position. Cole struggling a bit here. Cole looks winded!
That's one minute gone in the round. Cole is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Jaktic in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Jaktic in side control, just content to control the action for now. Jaktic has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Jaktic tries for a kimura but Cole is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jaktic scoring with punches from side control. Jaktic connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Cole some visible discomfort.
Jaktic lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Cole down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jaktic controlling the position from side mount. Jaktic grinds an elbow into Cole's temple. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jaktic has an Americana. Cole didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Jaktic is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Jaktic hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Brolis dives in for a single leg takedown but Watts sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Watts seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Brolis misses with a straight right. Brolis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Watts throws a big counter combination but Brolis scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Brolis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Watts.

Brolis shoots for a double leg takedown but Watts sprawls well. He's pushed Brolis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Brolis closes the distance and clinches up with Watts, looking for a takedown. Brolis pushes Watts against the cage but Watts circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Brolis takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Brolis shoots for a double leg takedown but Watts sprawls well. He's pushed Brolis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Brolis looks winded! Watts scores with a crisp jab that stopped Brolis in his tracks. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Watts misses with a series of wild punches.

Watts definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Watts shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Brolis eats them both and turns towards Watts to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Brolis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Brolis shoots in but no luck this time. Watts scores with a punch to the head. Brolis closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Brolis dives in for a single leg takedown but Watts sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Watts digs a good body shot into Brolis's ribs. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brolis connects with a leg kick. Watts scores with a jab to the body. Watts throws a nice looking combination but Brolis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Brolis misses the jab.

Brolis misses with a takedown and Watts counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Brolis takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Brolis is rocked! Watts goes for a small jab and connects. Now Watts goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Brolis stumbles back but Watts runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Brolis to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Brolis will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Smith waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bonifacio . Bonifacio scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Smith throws a right hand that misses
and Bonifacio counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Smith walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Bonifacio fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Smith throws a shot from downtown. Bonifacio moves away and avoids it. Bonifacio looks like he wants to counter punch here. Bonifacio slips a jab and a cross from Smith.

Smith takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Bonifacio stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Smith takes a shot right to the bread basket. Smith shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Smith throws a lazy right hand but Bonifacio sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Bonifacio scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Smith takes one to the side of the head.
Bonifacio throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Smith on the side of the head. A big left from Smith misses. Bonifacio is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Smith had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Smith attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Bonifacio let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Bonifacio has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. The fighters circling - Smith throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Bonifacio ducks under a wild hook from Smith. Bonifacio lands a jab to Smith's midsection. Bonifacio swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown but Bonifacio manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Smith's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Bonifacio jabs at Smith's body. Bonifacio jabs Smith to the body, keeping him at a distance. Smith fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Smith tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bonifacio was well out of range. Poor timing from Smith. Bonifacio misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smith.

Bonifacio ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Jab by Bonifacio . Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Bonifacio circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Smith to the canvas! Smith doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Bonifacio keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luigi Bonifacio ! A very excited looking Luigi Bonifacio rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

and Shamrock counters with a lovely shot to the body. Salva lands a nice looking body shot.

and Salva counters with a head kick. That will keep Shamrock thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! A big right from Salva misses. Shamrock throwing a counter right hand but Salva manages to avoid it. Salva looks to score with a jab to the body but Shamrock is just out of range. Shamrock waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Salva. Salva works Shamrock's body with a nice hook. Shamrock misses with a looping right. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A decent looking cross lands there for Salva. Shamrock takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Salva lands with a shot to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A head kick by Shamrock misses and Salva connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Salva ducks under a wild hook from Shamrock. Salva throws out a counter right but Shamrock avoids it with no problem. El Salva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shamrock on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Salva lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Salva bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A solid leg kick lands there for Salva.
Shamrock throws an off balance right hand
and Salva connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Salva ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shamrock moves away. Shamrock with a poor takedown and Salva counters with a straight right hand. Salva uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shamrock. Shamrock drops his hands momentarily and Salva takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Shamrock misses with a hook. Salva slips a jab from Shamrock. Shamrock takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Salva throws out a loose jab but Shamrock uses good head movement to avoid it. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Salva, as that shot connected.
Tim Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Salva connects with a solid leg kick. Salva stuns Shamrock with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Shamrock takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Shamrock swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Salva looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Shamrock is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Salva fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Salva is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Shamrock had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Shamrock is looking to clinch but Salva is avoiding it.
Salva has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Salva drops Shamrock with a naaaaasty hook - Shamrock is in real trouble here! Salva dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Harris connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Rico throws a right and a left that both miss. Harris throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
No joy there for Harris, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rico tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Decent striking displayed by Harris there. Rico ducks under a wild hook from Harris. Rico uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Harris.
Harris looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Rico misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rico looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Harris! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Harris prevents Rico from improving position. Rico moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Let's hope that Rico has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Takamura connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gracie. Gracie circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Takamura misses with a leg kick and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Takamura won't be happy with that. Takamura is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Gracie has just dragged him back down to the mat. Takamura has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Takamura is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Gracie looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Takamura pushes Gracie away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gracie gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Gracie passes to full mount! Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Archer! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mickey Garcia! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and James Ackerman.

Archer is looking to counter the offense by Garcia and move into the clinch. Garcia takes one to the chin there. Garcia uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Archer.
A looping hook to the body misses from Garcia. Archer does a little dance to reset his feet. Garcia tries to clinch there but Archer circles away.

Archer dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Garcia. That did some damage! Archer has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The House Of Pain in the buildup to the fight. A low kick from Archer is predictable there and Garcia counters with a stiff right hand. Garcia lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Archer uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Garcia. Archer throws a hook but Garcia avoids it easily. Garcia has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Garcia looks to score with a jab to the body but Archer is just out of range.

Archer shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Garcia is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Archer with a body shot. Archer pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Garcia fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Archer, pushing him back against the cage. Garcia manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Archer stopping the sweep attempt from Garcia. Garcia manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Archer manages to get himself to full guard.
Archer is controlling Garcia's posture. Archer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Garcia's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Archer is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Garcia is aware though and is defending well. Archer tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Garcia postures up in Archer's guard and throws a big left but Archer blocks it. Archer controls Garcia momentarily but Garcia frees himself. Garcia stands up over Archer, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Garcia content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Archer preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Garcia stands up over Archer, holding his feet. That's four minutes gone in the round. Archer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Archer being controlled here, momentarily. Garcia postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Archer wants to stand but Garcia is controlling the position. Garcia content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Garcia trying to control but Archer is working from the bottom. Garcia got a little sloppy there for a moment and Archer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Garcia has managed to get both his arms back between Archer's legs - danger averted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mickey Garcia dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Garcia getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Archer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Garcia.

Nice strikes from Garcia there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Garcia sitting in half guard here. He lands a big elbow that has hurt Archer! Oh, Archer is in big trouble! Garcia lands more strikes and the ref dives in to save him! The fight is over!
