Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mickey DIsmantle (ranked 4297 p4p, 7286 weight class) and Ecce Homo (ranked 409 p4p, 501 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think DIsmantle might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Come As You Are. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mickey DIsmantle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ecce Homo! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Topper Green and Skip Squint.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sparrow landing punches. Sparrow scores with a couple of good head shots there.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Diaz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Diaz seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Diaz takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Diaz is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Diaz wants to pass the guard but Mandinos is keeping the position. Diaz stays in close to Mandinos's body and controls the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Diaz throws a chopping leg kick but Mandinos manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Diaz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Diaz passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Diaz seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mandinos for as long as he can get away with.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! No, Mandinos has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted. Mandinos postures up.

Mandinos is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Diaz has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Mandinos is looking to defend but Diaz has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Mandinos! Diaz pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Mandinos taps out and this one is all over!

Ronnie Bass seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bass thows a left - swing and a miss! Bass doesn't manage to clinch there - Costune circles away.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Bass slips a jab and a cross from Costune.

Costune looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bass misses with an uppercut. Costune doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Bass misses with a low kick.

Costune throws a right and a left that both miss. Bass steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Costune. Costune misses with a series of wild punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bass forces Costune back against the cage and clinches. Bass throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Bass manages to break the clinch.
Costune throws a series of punches but Bass moves out of range. Costune throws a right hand that Bass ducks under and follows up with a left that Bass also avoids with ease. Costune tries to land a leg kick but Bass saw it coming and moves away.
Bass's corner calls for a 1-2. Bass obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Good standup being displayed there by Bass as he connects with a hook. Bass throws a jab when Costune was well out of range. Costune is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. A jab from Bass finds it's way through Costune's defenses. Costune is rocked! Bass avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Costune is still on wobbly legs! Can Bass finish him? Bass throws an uppercut from hell that sends Costune clean off his feet! He's out cold! Bass stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
