Smile tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cross manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Horrible takedown attempt by Smile or perhaps it was just good defense by Cross, which made it look bad.
Cross ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smile moves away.
Smile shoots in for a takedown but Cross shows good takedown defense.
Smile tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Smile shoots for a double leg takedown but Cross sprawls well. He's pushed Smile's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Smile has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cross avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Custo's coach down at Canucks Combat Club was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Custo's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
