Beckwith fails with the takedown
and Cheese counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Cheese is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Beckwith closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cheese is trying to get back to half guard.

Beckwith swings around for an armbar but Cheese sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Beckwith's guard.

Beckwith looking for a guillotine here but Cheese defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Beckwith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cheese's guard.

Cheese really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beckwith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Beckwith is looking to pass into half guard but Cheese pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Cheese is in guard.


Cheese has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Beckwith to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Cheese is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Beckwith pulls down on the head and he's put Cheese to sleep! This one is all over!

After the fight, Rudy Beckwith was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
