The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Legrand dives in for a single leg takedown but Forsberg sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
It seemed like Forsberg was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Legrand gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Forsberg blocking the ground and pound attempt from Legrand.
Forsberg tries to kick Legrand off but Legrand keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Forsberg looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Legrand is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Forsberg!

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miet Cleever (ranked 1209 p4p, 1199 weight class) and Ramon Castiana (ranked 189 p4p, 187 weight class). Ramon Castiana told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ramon Castiana!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cleever cracks Castiana with an open hand slap.
It looks like Ramon Castiana has been cut.
Cleever has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Castiana misses with a lunging right hand
and Castiana takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Castiana doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Cleever to counter with a crisp jab.
Castiana doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Cleever counters with a left to the body.
Castiana misses with a takedown attempt
and Cleever counters with a stiff right hand.
Miet Cleever has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ramon Castiana.
Cleever lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
That has opened up Ramon Castiana's cut even more.

Cleever feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Castiana sprawling to the canvas! Castiana rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Cleever finish him?!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cleever fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Castiana manages to avoid it.

Cleever drops Castiana with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Castiana looks back up at him and smiles so Cleever waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Castiana is rocked!
The cut above Ramon Castiana's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Castiana is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cleever.
Cleever thuds a left hand into Castiana's body.
Castiana's coach down at Hilo Workout Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Castiana's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
BOOM! Cleever lands a beautiful left hook that drops Castiana. Castiana tries to recover but Cleever is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Castiana lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Miet Cleever!
Miet Cleever is the new light heavyweight champion!
Miet Cleever decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
