Markkanen wants to control from the top but Fisher keeps moving.
Fisher is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fisher thows a huge punch but Markkanen dodges it nicely.

Fisher is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Markkanen sees it coming and defends easily.

Markkanen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fisher doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fisher manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Fisher wants to get up but he can't break Markkanen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Markkanen has his foot on Fisher's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fisher works his way back into a safe position though.

Fisher drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fisher jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Markkanen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fisher's guard.

Well Markkanen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In defeat, John Fisher stepped up to the mic, saying 'He's champ for a reason. Good fight Odin, maybe we'll run it back one day when the belt is on the line.'.
