Diego definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Murat tries to score a power double leg takedown but Diego sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Murat somewhat. A shot to the liver by Diego. Beautiful body shot. A decent looking cross lands there for Diego. Murat shoots for a double leg takedown but Diego sprawls well. He's pushed Murat's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A jab from Diego finds it's way through Murat's defenses. Diego with a hook. Diego throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Murat crashing down! Murat tries to stagger back to his feet but Diego just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Villanil fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Segamar avoids it really well and circles away. It looked like Segamar was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Villanil. Villanil shoots and misses and Segamar counters with a stiff right hand. Villanil shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Segamar defends it nicely. Segamar was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Severus Segamar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Allan John Villanil. Villanil goes for a double leg but Segamar avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Segamar continues to drive forward. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Villanil. Villanil shoots in looking for a takedown. Segamar tries to sprawl out of it but Villanil keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Segamar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Segamar is looking for a counter combo. Villanil fails with a takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A combination from Segamar does no damage. Villanil shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Villanil is working for a submission of some sort.

He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Segamar has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Villanil is really squeezing tight and eventually Segamar passes out! Villanil breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Xigua Tou seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tou shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Akutagawa is trying to defend but Tou finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Akutagawa blocking the ground and pound attempt from Tou. Jab by Eye. Eye on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Jab by Tomate. Eye fails miserably with a takedown attempt. We've been told by Tomate's head coaches at RBB Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Tomate fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Eye has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Tomate keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Tomate misses with a low kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tomate thuds a left hand into Eye's body. Tomate lands a really nice looking cross but Eye seems unphased.
Eye wants to clinch and Tomate counters with a nice low kick that buckles Eye's knee momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eye shoots in looking for a takedown. Tomate tries to sprawl out of it but Eye keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tomate manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Tiago Tomate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pinky Eye. Tomate cracks Eye with an open hand slap. Eye closes the distance and clinches up with Tomate, looking for a takedown. Eye pushes Tomate against the cage but Tomate circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Eye throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Tomate counters with a thumping low kick. Eye takes a jab right on the kisser.
Eye uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Tomate has time to react. Tomate listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Tiago Tomate is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tomate dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Eye. That did some damage! Tomate works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romero tries to close the distance and clinch up but Taranin swats him away and circles back towards the center. Taranin tries to counter with a clinch but Romero shakes him off and moves away. Romero looks to clinch and Taranin counters with a nice double leg into guard. Taranin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Taranin throws a strike but Romero rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Taranin is looking for a triangle here but Romero uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Taranin tries to get back to half guard but can't. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Taranin is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Taranin trying to hold on to Romero's head to control him but Romero postures up.
Taranin felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

John lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
