Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hendrik Van Tonder (ranked 24803 p4p, 24251 weight class) and Ron Jacobs (ranked 447 p4p, 456 weight class). Van Tonder's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Orkney snork nie. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Jacobs, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jacobs fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Van Tonder sprawls well initially but Jacobs persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jacobs is nestled in close to Van Tonder, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jacobs looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jacobs frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Van Tonder tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Jacobs cranks the arm and Van Tonder screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Van Tonder, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Cid uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jahr.
Cid tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jahr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Cid wants to control but Jahr is keeping him busy.

Jahr manages to get his head free but now Cid has transitioned to an armbar! Jahr grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Cid! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Skull rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Skoog moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Skoog! Skull is backing up but he can't get away as Skoog lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Skull and ends the fight. Great knockout.
