The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Asparuh clinches.
Shikai drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Asparuh gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Shikai breaks the clinch.

Shikai changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Asparuh looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Shikai tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Asparuh is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Shikai is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Nichols (ranked 2664 p4p, 2534 weight class) and Sean Faolin (ranked 326 p4p, 313 weight class). Faolin has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?
