Balboa has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Taaco seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Balboa can turn it around.
Taaco is fighting off a takedown attempt but Balboa is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Taaco to the mat. Taaco regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Taaco is wriggling around but Balboa manages to pass to half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Taako Taaco will probably get the nod.

Jones cracks Dantes with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Jones shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dantes eats them both and turns towards Jones to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Jones has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Dantes leaves his chin hanging out and Jones seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Dantes crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Green shoots in looking for a takedown. Gong tries to sprawl out of it but Green keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gong manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Green tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gong sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Green somewhat.

Gong lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Nice sprawl there from Gong as Green shoots in.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Nice straight punches there by Gong. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gong.
Jab, jab by Gong - just one landing.

Gong is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Green had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gong tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Green was well out of range. Poor timing from Gong.
Green takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Green takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
