Balboa gets tackled into the cage by Taaco. Taaco maintains the clinch.

I was talking to Taaco's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Balboa slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Balboa avoids a punch combination nicely.

Taaco drives through and clinches with Balboa against the cage.
Balboa has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Taaco seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Balboa can turn it around.

Taaco is fighting off a takedown attempt but Balboa is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Taaco to the mat. Taaco regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Balboa cracks Taaco with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round but I would say that Taako Taaco will probably get the nod.

Al Din Kader ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Banchamek's jaw. Banchamek's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Al Din Kader does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Nice defenses there by Jones.
Jones cracks Dantes with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
A telegraphed right hand from Dantes misses the target.

Jones connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dantes. Dantes circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Dantes dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jones. That did some damage!

Jones avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Jones punishes Dantes's body with a nice straight punch.
The fighters circle momentarily. Jones darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Jones shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dantes eats them both and turns towards Jones to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Edmond Dantes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dantes thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Jones if he has to take too many more of those.

Jones has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Jones throws out a counter right but Dantes avoids it with no problem.

Oooooh!!! Jones has knocked Dantes down with a huge combo! Jones steps away and waves a wobbly Dantes back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Dantes leaves his chin hanging out and Jones seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Dantes crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Green tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gong sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Green somewhat.

Gong lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Nice straight punches there by Gong. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gong.
