Sokolov has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Sokolov trying to control but Gualtieri is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sokolov fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Sokolov avoids the attempt from Gualtieri to control. Sokolov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Margera clobbers Wanjiku with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Margera moves into the clinch. A short left from Margera. Margera misses with a knee to the head. Margera lands a nice knee to the body. A short right from Wanjiku. I was talking to Margera's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Margera misses with a punch to the body.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown attempt by Turtle or perhaps it was just good defense by Mendiola, which made it look bad. Mendiola throwing a counter right hand but Turtle manages to avoid it. Mendiola looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Turtle throws an overhand right that lands on Mendiola's shoulder, as Mendiola tries to avoid the shot. Rubber Turtle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Turtle tries a head kick but it misses.

Mendiola lands a nice hook to Turtle's body. Turtle takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Turtle takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Turtle attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Turtle lands a slapping body shot.

Turtle wants to clinch up but Mendiola keeps it at a distance. A counter left hand to the body from Mendiola misses its target. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mendiola looks to score with a jab to the body but Turtle is just out of range. Turtle on the wrong end of a nice jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Turtle goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Turtle throws a head kick that misses. Mendiola swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Turtle cracks Mendiola with an open hand slap. Turtle is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Turtle throws an off balance right hand
and Mendiola counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Turtle misses with a low kick. Mendiola bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Turtle tries to bench press Mendiola off him but Mendiola keeps the position. Mendiola content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendiola has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Turtle managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Mendiola.

Turtle fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mendiola looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Mendiola drives through with a takedown into Turtle's guard. Mendiola slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Turtle now looks to counter with a shot at the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sabas Mendiola. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mendiola slips a jab from Turtle. Turtle bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Turtle. Turtle throws a shot from downtown. Mendiola moves away and avoids it. Turtle throws a leg kick and Mendiola counters with a lovely straight right hand! Mendiola avoids the head kick by Turtle.
Turtle lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Turtle is looking to score with low kicks. Decent striking displayed by Turtle there. Turtle has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Mendiola tests Turtle's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendiola moves out of range of the strikes. Mendiola throws a body shot but no joy. Turtle only half commits to the counter leg kick. A jab from Mendiola misses. Turtle doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Mendiola scores with a jab. A jab from Mendiola misses. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Mendiola crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Turtle - the referee stops the clock and Mendiola gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Turtle. Mendiola manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Mendiola lands a jab to the head.
Mendiola tries to clinch up but Turtle circles away and keeps his distance. Mendiola looks to throw the jab but Turtle is out of range. Mendiola lands with a hook. Turtle tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Turtle throws a series of strikes that have Mendiola backpedaling.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mendiola connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hideki throws a right hand that misses
and Maldita counters with a lovely shot to the body. Maldita moves out of range of the strikes. Hideki throws a body kick despite being completely out of range enabling Maldita to counter with a crisp jab. Hideki misses with a left hand and Maldita counters with a left to the body. Maldita misses with a wild body shot. Maldita looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Hideki lands with an overhand left. Hideki cracks Maldita with a good jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hideki ducks under a wild hook from Maldita. Hideki appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Hideki lands a big uppercut and Maldita crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Maldita looks OK. Hideki waves Maldita back to his feet! Maldita is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hideki misses with a straight left.

and Maldita counters with a stiff right hand. Hideki looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Hideki backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Maldita's temple! It sends Maldita violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Hideki celebrates and the doctors try to help Maldita!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 25 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vladamir Fedetenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Iranian Hulk! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hulk shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fedetenko but Fedetenko pushes him off and we're back to square one. Fedetenko is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Hulk shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Fedetenko counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Fedetenko misses with a straight right. Fedetenko leaves Hulk with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Vladamir Fedetenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iranian Hulk. Hulk throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fedetenko tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hulk is in Fedetenko's guard. Fedetenko has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Hulk is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Fedetenko tries to work over Hulk's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Hulk goes for a takedown attempt but Fedetenko pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hulk tries to clinch but Fedetenko moves out of range. Fedetenko appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hulk is defended easily by Fedetenko. Hulk with a poor takedown and Fedetenko counters with a left to the body. Hulk looks winded! Hulk misses with a takedown attempt and Fedetenko counters with a lovely shot to the body. Hulk shoots for a double leg takedown but Fedetenko sprawls well. He's pushed Hulk's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Fedetenko throws a shot to the body.
Hulk takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hulk takes a shot right to the bread basket. Hulk on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. It looks like Iranian Hulk has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fedetenko lands with a shot to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fedetenko shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Hulk takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Fedetenko sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Hulk bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!
